The first year aims at bringing students from diverse backgrounds to a common platform of contextual understanding, basic knowledge and skills to lay ground for subsequent three years of study and achievement. Subjects like Pattern Making, Apparel Construction, Fashion Illustration, Basic Stitchcraft, Communication Skills, Art and Design, Textile, Indian Embroidery, Fashion Co-ordination and Generic Skills along with Computer Aided Design will be taught.
During the second year, learning concentrates on the basic understanding and skills significant to chosen subjects. Subjects like Pattern Making, Apparel Construction, and Fashion Illustration will continue along with History of Indian Costumes, History of World Costumes and Textiles, Dyeing and Printing, Marketing and Merchandising, Fabric Construction and Advanced Computer Aided Design. Fashion Co-ordination covering professional make up and grooming, this would lead to a complete transformation of the student wherein the student shall metamorphose into a budding confident personality.
In the third year students take their learning to a advanced level, engage in application through projects, and showcase their talent through a Fashion Show which is the culmination of their combined effort. In this year the syllabus includes – Pattern Making, Apparel Construction along with Draping and Grading of Patterns, Portfolio Development, Styling, The World of Accessories and Accounts. During the latter half the students shall work for a thematic fashion show to be held towards the last lap of the course showcasing the talent of the graduating students of the Diploma in Fashion Design. This shall be the stepping platform for the budding designers with the media coverage.
